About this event

Written by Deletta Gillespie. Directed by Blue Cavell-Allette. Take a journey through the exhibit of The Repository of Deferred Justice with Justice as your guide. The exhibit features the turn of the century, self-sustaining Black community of Greenwood; a thriving economic and cultural mecca until racism attempted to erase all traces of its existence. Playwright Deletta Gillespie artfully tells the story of one of the deadliest acts of domestic terrorism on American soil, the Tulsa Race Riots of 1921. Filled with historical corrections, clarifications, and characters that are larger than, but, true to life, The Magic City Massacre uses creative arts to pay homage to Black Wall Street, and to explore the ideology and reality of \"liberty and justice for all\". Mature language and content.
