Guadalupe - Nipomo Dunes & Visitor Center

Located along an 18-mile stretch of ocean in Central California, the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Complex is the second largest dune system in California. The ecosystem at the dunes is home to more than 18 endangered species of plants. A portion of the complex has been declared a National Natural Landmark for conservation purposes. The dunes complex features the Ocean Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area for off-road driving adventures.

    Annual events held at the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Center include the Trees of the Season, Coreopsis Cup Golf Tournament, and various community outreach activities. Educational programs are also offered throughout the year.
  • What are some native plants in the park?

    Enjoy guided hiking tours through this beautiful landscape of tall dunes. As you explore, you will find at least 18 endangered plant species in the dunes, including La Graciosa thistle, surf thistle, beach spectacle pod and crisp dune mint.
